About Awesome Paws Moyen Poodles

AWESOME PAWS is a top-notch, quality Illinois breeder of Moyen or "medium-sized" Poodle, Aussiedoodle, Bernedoodle, Doodle Puppies and Ragdoll Kittens.  Poodles and Aussiedoodles are available in parti, phantom, merle, cafe au lait and solid colors. Ragdoll Kittens are primarily seal and come in solid, mitted, bi-color and lynx or lynx bi-color patterns.

With 25 years of experience, we pride ourselves on the quality, temperament, personality and health of our animals.   Puppies are socialized from Day #1, are raised in my home with kids, cats and dogs of all sizes and are raised with manners (no jumping, mouthing, biting, or constant barking).    

• My name is Joanne Heritsch and I have been breeding for over 25 years and enjoy many aspects of it.  
• My favorite part is nurturing these puppies/kittens until they are ready to go home. 
• I research the health and temperament of any new dog/cat I bring into my home to use for breeding.  
• I will not breed overly timid or aggressive animals. 
• I am always very honest about the quality of the animals I place explaining both the good points and any points I think the new owners should know about.  
• I never encourage a prospective owner to purchase an animal that they aren't ready for or that is not suited for their environment.
• Traditionally, I only breed a female for 2-3 heat litters and then fix and place her in her forever home.   I will keep one of her puppies for breeding so that we have the same quality bloodlines and she gets to spend the majority of her time in a pet home with individualized love and attention.  
• This is not just a business to me; it is very important that my animals go to a safe, happy, well-adjusted home and that each personality is paired with that of its new parents.  I also require in my contract that if, in the event Purchaser is unable to keep a puppy/kitten purchased from me, it will be returned to my home.  I realize things come up (e.g., unemployment, allergies, etc.) and I do not want my animals to be taken to a shelter.  My animals are very important to me and if you return the pet to me, I can determine whether it stays with me or I can rehome it.  This is a win-win situation for everyone.
• I remain a resource to you once your puppy/kitten goes home with questions that you might have while getting settled in. 
• For a training fee, I can hold your puppy back and provide additional training for a set period of time, e.g., two or three additional months.  Ask about purchasing an older trained puppy.
